Vice President of Operation & Installation, Custom Division

Sam Stephens is from Columbus GA and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 2008. Before joining Dalton Carpet One, Sam worked as a move manager at Two Men & A Truck. Sam has held various positions at Dalton Carpet One since he joined the team in 2014. He was promoted to his current role as the Vice President of Operations and Installation, Custom Division in 2022. Sam describes his role as managing the installation and support staff, as well as managing the processes of the back of the house and ensuring that monthly job costing, and profit analysis are performed. He says that he enjoys working at DCO because of the constant action, where there is always an area of the business that he can be working on. Sam’s best quality that he enjoys using in his position is understanding the needs of our people both on the sales and support sides. Creating a cohesive work environment gives our customers the best possible service. Sam says that “We sell and install flooring, but our main investment is in our people and our customers. Happy and exited employees will go the extra mile (or inch) to help our customers. I am proud to work on a team that believes in this.” Sam’s dream job is a golf caddie for the PGA Tour – that is if he wasn’t in flooring of course!
